What’s the difference between the workshops and mentoring sessions?

The workshops take place on Saturdays and are a group activity where all young people and parents on the programme join. The skill-building and enrichment workshops are run by professionals who have worked in the youth sector. We run 8 young people workshops and 1 parent introductory workshop. Young people are required to attend 70% of all workshops in order to get a certificate of participation.

The mentoring sessions are one-to-one and scholars are matched with our volunteer mentors. The mentoring sessions take place outside of workshop times and are scheduled with the parent and mentor based on availability. We expect the scholar to complete 6 mentoring sessions over the period of 6 months. The mentoring sessions are optional.

The workshops and one-to-one mentoring sessions take place online and all session information is sent directly to parents.

*Please note that we might have in-person check-ins. However, it’s optional and if a family is unable to join in person, it does not affect their attendance or engagement on the programme.
